From October 13 to 20, 2025, a delegation of local government leaders from the Republic of Uzbekistan visited Latvia for a study program “Leadership for Resilient Communities: Strategy, Innovation, and Teamwork.” The visit was organized by the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA) within the framework of a project “Good Governance – Support to Capacity Building for the Public Administration of Uzbekistan” funded by the German Development Cooperation Organization "GIZ".
During the program, the delegation explored the experience of municipalities in Liepāja and Riga, participated in trainings on process management, effective teamwork, and leadership, and discussed sustainable development strategies and civic engagement. The visit included meetings with Latvian municipal leaders, representatives of the Saeima (Parliament), the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments, as well as visits to companies, the community initiative center and innovation hubs, including Startup House.
This exchange strengthens cooperation between Latvia and Uzbekistan, promotes the adoption of best practices, and supports the capacity building of local governments.
